Project 366– Day 17

Day 17: Picture

Tonight I stumbled upon a group petitioning to save a Swim Center that is being shut down. I not only used to work there, I grew up spending my summers there. My Dad was in charge of the Family Swim Center for as long as I can remember.  It’s a shame that it’s being shut down, but the administrators at the camp never realized the full potential of the program.

This picture is from our year end barbecue in 2007. A bunch of my cousins, and my brother and brother-in-law were helping out with the festivities and decided to take part in the belly flop competition. These are the kinds of memories that I have of my summers throughout the years. I hope that even if the group is unable to save the Family Swim Center, that it will still be a forum to share memories and pictures of the years passed.

Day 16: Song

I Want Somebody to B***h About by Kristin Chenoweth

I love the carefree nature of this song, while it’s essentially saying ‘I want somebody to love.’ It makes me forget that I’m listening to a song that’s basically about being lonely.

Day 15: Song

What I Love About Sundays by Craig Morgan

Some Sundays I dread coming home from work to a noisy house full of family.

This was one of the Sundays that I cherished it. It was laid back. I didn’t have to deal with certain unpleasant people. I got to relax, have some dinner, and some great conversation with some family.

Project 366– Day 14

Day 14: Picture/Quote

Today was supposed to be a carefree, easy day. It was fairly easy, but there were some comments made by my brother that upset me. I know they come from a place of concern, but sometimes I think that no one really gets it. I’m trying to save for a car, and I’m trying to better myself, and plan for my future, but I’m stuck in limbo right now. It all sort of hinges on the fact that I don’t have my own car, and I can’t really change anything else until I change that. And it’s frustrating as hell!

And some days, like today, I just feel like more and more people are giving up on me.

I need that to stop and I need them to trust me.

I’ll wait.

Day 13– Quote

“It’s Friday the 13th. This simply means that most of my children will blame witchcraft for their regular stupidity.” -Unknown

I absolutely love this quote! I am not superstitious about Friday the 13th. However, I do enjoy having an excuse for the stupidity of my customers at The Pub.

Enjoy what’s left of your day and avoid any black cats! ;-P

Day 12: Song

I’m Gonna Love You Through It by Martina McBride

Today there was a funeral luncheon being held at The Pub. I don’t know the circumstances surrounding the loss of the person being mourned, but it got me thinking about my mom. Recently, whenever I think about her, I think about this song. Even though this song makes me wanna cry, it also makes me proud because the love described in the song is exactly the type of love that I know my dad had for my mom. He loved her all the way through to the end. And he still does.

As do I.

Day 11: Song

What I Love About Your Love by Jana Kramer

Tonight was the season premiere of One Tree Hill. One thing I have come to anticipate about these nights is whether or not Jana Kramer will have a new song in the episode. When she first started on the show, I never dreamed she would have such an awesome voice and sing my kind of music.
